Alt="Volunteers man registration table"Queens Council helps raise $10K for Juvenile Diabetes Research
by: Martin Gnolfo, Pres.-Queens Council
On a beautiful sunny October Sunday, Queens Council put the finishing touches to months of hard work in getting walkers and sponsors for our Annual 10K Juvenile Diabetes Research Walk, at the site of New York's 1964 World's Fair in Flushing Meadows Park. The Queens Council, with the support of fellow Pioneer members throughout Queens work locations and donations from the Community, made this walk a success by raising $10,000! It was nice to see the many people who came out early to help with whatever was needed! Queens Council would like to thank all the brave people who walked and those who could not, but came to the walk and showed support for finding a cure to this terrible disease. Thanks go to the Pioneer Clowns who worked very, very hard for all the children at the event. Thanks also go to Oueens Whitman Life Members.
